Santhwana focuses on providing relief from the symptoms of serious illness and stress due to bed-ridden condition. The goal is to improve quality of life and develop positive feelings in patient’s mind towards the end of their life and show solidarity to the client’s family. Palliative care integrates psychological and spiritual aspects with the support services to the patients. It also ensures supports system to help the family to cope-up with the patient’s illness and the situation of bereavement, if it arises. They help the patients by cleaning and dressing their wounds, changing catheters, bladder wash, test blood pressure and sugar levels and provide counseling depending upon the need of each patient and their family members.
Last year, we attended 686 patients and had given counseling to 15 bed ridden patients.
